Pro Bono Representation Program

Women victim of domestic violence and serious crimes

The Program

This firm strongly believes in the importance of giving back to the community and making a difference in the lives of women who are victims of domestic violence. To that effect, this firm will provide professional services at no fee or a reduced fee to vulnerable, low-income immigrant women who are victims of domestic violence or serious crimes, and who qualify for relief under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and U visa.

This firm will screen the cases to ensure legal eligibility for the benefit sought. This firm can only take a limited number of pro-bono cases, therefore those with the fewest private resources will enter the firm’s program.

Obtaining legal status with an approved VAWA self -petition or U visa allows women who are victims of domestic violence and serious crimes to be eligible for lawful employment, a valid social security number, legal permanent residence, and eventually U.S. citizenship.

This will empower women and their dependents to escape abusive behaviors, and encourage them to become self -sufficient. The overall aim is to help these women build a secure and productive future for themselves and their dependents.

These cases will be handled with the same level of professional competence as any matter handled by this firm.
